On the 3rd of June 2015, many lives were lost in Ghana. There was a heavy downpour which got the city of Accra flooded. The rains caused an explosion from a petroleum filling station which then caused a fire outbreak. Over hundreds of lives were lost and so many others injured. I would like to outline a few possible causes of the flood. Ghana is known to be less privileged when it comes to managing waste. People tend to dump refuse in drainage systems because there's inadequate resources for recycling and proper disposal of garbage. Dumping refuse in gutters blocked the drains making no way for water to pass. A fact shows that water always finds a way. So after the rains, the water which couldn't make its way through the drains, found its way into people's homes. Many people lost their lives, the lives of loved ones and also property. May the souls of the deceased rest in perfect peace and my sincere condolences to the bereaved families.
